Midnight at… Remastered 01

Happy Friday, all!

Overview: This has been a long time coming. While I’m proud of the Midnight at… series as a whole and consider it some of my best work, I can’t help but go back and look at it differently six years after release. There are parts of it I’m not satisfied with, and this old dog has learned a few new tricks in the interim between when it was first released in 2017 and now. I present a better working, better looking Midnight at… series.

This set specifically: Midnight at the Cryo Lab features exciting new changes.

• The large cryo chambers are all-in-one units; you don’t have to place the glass separately.
• Likewise, the hologram projector is all-in-one; all of the holograms can be controlled via the console’s object menu.
• The hologram projector console and master control console have added functionality; Now, in addition to being just set pieces, the Sims can use them to gain skills. They feature fixed (soundless) button-pushing animations, corrected sounds, and better overall functionality.
• Many of the cooling unit objects can now be used to cool your Sim’s body temperature (see below).
• Shorter file names, better catalog categorization, and more reasonable prices. And of course a collection file.

The Objects

Compact Cryo Chambers
The base objects for the entire set. Largely unchanged; the closed chamber still has the same SFX.

Large Cryo Chambers
The glass and SFX are now integrated into the base unit, no need for a separate glass object.

Cooling Units
The cooling units are still mostly deco/set pieces, but the small capsules, medium standing tanks, and both sizes of evaporators can now be used to cool off hot Sims.

Lab Equipment
The hologram projector console and master control console can now be used by SIms to develop skills, instead of just as set pieces. Both consoles have been beautified/remeshed. Everything else is largely unchanged.
